Isocyanate Saturated Polyester Resins with Excellent Leveling
◎Introduction
NH7809 is a hydroxylated polyester resin for polyester/isocyanate powder coating system.
Among the many coating products, powder coatings are one of the rapidly developing products, mainly due to their low VOC emissions. Currently, blocked isocyanates are widely used as crosslinking agents for powder coatings, especially in many countries in North America and Asia. However, it is used less in Europe, mainly due to the toxicity of triglycidyl isocyanurate, a cross-linking agent for powder coatings used in Europe. If this problem is solved, the use of blocked isocyanates will increase.
The pollution of powder coatings is mainly dust pollution in the production process and the emission of toxic gases in the curing process. Therefore, there is also the problem of reducing VOC. Another problem is to further improve the quality of powder coatings, such as improving storage stability, reducing yellowing, improving flow and leveling, reducing the baking temperature, and improving film properties. Blocked isocyanates and their prepolymers can be designed into various structures and can be combined with epoxy, polyester, and acrylic resins to form powder coatings with various properties to improve the construction performance and film performance of the coatings.
